5 Things I Loved About Kolkata

Kolkata, the City of Joy, truly lives up to its name! My recent trip left me with memories full of warmth, flavor, and color. Here are the top 5 things I absolutely loved about this vibrant city:

1. The Street Food 🍲
From spicy puchkas (pani puri) to kathi rolls and jilipi (jalebi), the flavors are unforgettable. Every corner feels like a mini feast, especially around New Market and Park Street.

2. Howrah Bridge & Hooghly River Views πŸŒ‰
Standing on the banks of the Hooghly and watching boats pass under the iconic Howrah Bridge was surreal — especially during sunset.

3. Art & Culture Everywhere 🎭
Kolkata breathes creativity — from colorful wall art in Kumartuli to stunning performances at Nandan or Academy of Fine Arts. The city feels like a living museum.

4. Old-World Charm of North Kolkata πŸ›️
Wandering through narrow lanes, colonial buildings, and heritage bookshops like College Street felt like stepping back in time.

5. The Warm, Thoughtful People ❤️
Kolkata's people are among the friendliest I've met — curious, kind, and always ready to chat. You feel the warmth in every cup of cha (tea) shared by the roadside.

Kolkata left me inspired and deeply moved — I can’t wait to return!
